Week in Review: 8/31-9/3

Hey there! We had an eventful but productive week here at Marshall. We started RTI and Magnet Monday this week. Today was also our very first garden session. We are happy to report that this week we've begun to see a cohesive team emerge in the Fisher Baker classroom. Way to go, 4th and 5th graders!

This week in academics:

  • We reviewed and took a test on place value. (Expect to see these come home next week.)
  • We began a rounding unit
    • We practiced finding endpoints and midpoints
    • We practiced rounding on a number line
  • Brian continues to gain new survival strategies in Hatchet by Gary Paulsen.
  • We practiced identifying types of maps according to their characteristics.

Next week:
  • No school Monday for Labor Day!
  • Specials: P.E. and Technology
  • We'll have our first expert's topic instead of spelling in Wednesday and Thursday night's homework.
  • Thursday 9/10: We'll be sharing resources and data about your child at Connect to School Night. Have you RSVP'd? Ms. Fisher and Ms. Baker will be meeting with families from 6:30-7:15
