Week in Review 12/5-12/9
Never a dull week here at Marshall. Today we had our canned food drive parade, and our school compiled over 2,000 cans this year. Wow! Thanks for donating!
This week in academics:
- We reviewed all of our multiplication skills and closed out the unit with a test.
- We continued reading and discussion Sophia's War.
- We took the math Synergy assessment.
- 4th Graders engineered motion of a miniature boat using magnets.
- We distinguished between features of predators from those of prey.
- We identified animal adaptations such as camouflage, mimicry, mutualism, and chemical mechanisms.
- We researched and created booklets describing warm blooded and cold blooded animals.
- We classified animals.
Looking Ahead:
- We will not have homework next week.
- Book Bingo is Wednesday, 11/14 from 5:30-6:30 (We'll calculate totals for stickers on Tuesday.)
- We hope to see you at either 11:30 or 1:30 on Thursday, 12/15 for our Revolutionary War movie premiere. (Invitations will be comin' at ya next week.)

Week in Review
Hey there, Fisher Baker (Kasch) Families!
With a two hour delay Monday, a snow day Tuesday, and the 5th Grade middle school visit Wednesday day, this really was an interesting and not quite as productive as we would have liked week. We hope you were all safe on those icy roads this week!

With a two hour delay Monday, a snow day Tuesday, and the 5th Grade middle school visit Wednesday day, this really was an interesting and not quite as productive as we would have liked week. We hope you were all safe on those icy roads this week!
This week in Academics:
- The fourth graders were introduced to magnetic forces with Mr. Kasch.
- We learned about when to use estimation and practiced estimating.
- We learned about the four components of animals' habitats.
- We learned about animals' dietary adaptations and their sleep/ active rhythms.
- We took the Language Arts Synergy ipad test. (Next week will be math.)
- AR Book Reports (5 Paragraph Essays) were due.
- If yours was late, you will have to finish it during your lunch next week!!
Looking Ahead:
- Continue to Bring in canned food for the canned food drive!
- This coming Thursday, 12/8 will be a half day. (Dismissal at 12:25)
- 5th Graders will be learning about social health on Thursday, 12/8. Please return permission slip ASAP (whether you want your child to participate or not.)
- There will be no homework next week!
- Book Bingo will be on Wednesday, 12/14. Bring books to donate if you have any!
- SAVE THE DATE: Thursday, 12/15 will be our Revolutionary War movie premiere!
