Week in Review 1/11-1/15

Well, hello there!

It has been quiet here on the blog due to our crazy massive amounts of snow last week. We are happy to be back at it and into a regular routine. This week we've been hammering out some well researched  and carefully written animal and national park reports. Today we sent home some much anticipated science fair information. Our dates may look a little different than other class's due dates, so be careful to read information carefully and mark your calendars accordingly.  Here's some of what's been going on here this week.

This week in academics:
  • We continued learning different ways to think about and solve division problems
    • See links below for video lessons on some division methods we are learning.
  • We learned how to properly punctuate possessive nouns.
  • We learned how to join words, phrases, and sentences using coordinating conjunctions.
  • We edited, revised, and wrote final copies for research reports.

Looking ahead:
  • Middle school academy applications are due by February 1st. These require teacher recommendations, so please turn those in to us with plenty of time for us to fill those out. Check out this blog post for links to the different applications.
  • Save the Date! Our second Connect to School meeting will be on Friday, January 29th.

Have a wonderful weekend!
