Week in Review 10/31-11/4

What a week it was! Some of our biggest highlights were our Walnut Canyon Field Trip and the fifth graders' Taiko performances. Luckily the weather held out for a great field trip and the fifth graders rocked their performances after lots of hard work.

This Week in Academics:
  • We reviewed and finished out our Revolutionary War unit with a final test.
  • We reviewed multiplication so far (arrays, groups of things, repeated addition)
  • We learned properties of multiplication.
  • We practiced listing factors of numbers.
  • We began reading a new Revolutionary War themed book, Sophia's War.
  • We learned about what too look for in a good book. (an appropriate reading level, meaty enough to last at least a couple of weeks, no "junk food" books.)

Looking Ahead:
  • Monday will be the Thanksgiving luncheon at Marshall. Families are welcome! Our lunch is at 12:35
  • Be on the lookout for the traveling folder this week. (Due back to class signed by Thursday!)
  • There will be expert's homework next week Monday night and Tuesday night only.
  • This Tuesday (unless the baby comes sooner) will be Ms. Fisher's last day at Marshall for a little while. We will miss her, but are excited to welcome Mr. Kasch in her stead during her maternity leave. See you in late February, Ms. Fisher!
  • NO SCHOOL this Friday, November 11th, for Veteran's Day.

Have a great rest of your weekend together!
Ms. Baker and Ms. Fisher
